A surprise from Japan!

Guess what I got today? I had such a cute suprise from Japan!!! My friend " Otanin" , who is 1-year older than I am and used to work with me , sent me this adorable hot water bottle !!!! This is sooooooo cute!! I mean, too cute!! In her letter, she said that she got me this "piggy" hot-water bottle because I told her before that it is really cold here in Cheney. Isn't she sweet??
Otanin( this is actually a nick name, her name is Aya) is a really charming girl. Whatever she does, it just makes us smile, or laugh. But since she always dresses nice (no sweat shirts, never) and keeps her nails neat , it used to motivate me to be faminine like her. I am so fortunate to be one of her friends and keep in touch!! Thank you so much, Otanin!!!! Luv U!!

she's gonna be my friend from tonight!

Christmas is Coming

Christmas is coming up. Too early? Here, not at all. Right after Halloween Day on October 31th, American are ready to celebrate Christmas already. In Spokane, we have Christmas lightings all over the trees on the street, and shops in malls are now in Christam color. Even our book store on campus has a big christmas tree.
I was out for shopping on Friday by myself and happened to see one of my friends in a shopping mall. She was also doing chiristams shopping then. Maybe I have to start my christmas shopping soon too?

In Love With Coffee

Since this Friday was Veteran's day in US, we had an extra day off in addition to Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, the Thursday night felt like Friday night. Everyone was out then and lots of parties were going on. I wasn't feeling like staying home either, so I went out for dinner in Sponake with my German friend Barbara.
She is an exchange student and majors in English back in Germany just like me! Since we see each other everyday in English class, we are really good friends. I never had a friend from Germany, so things she has told me about her home country are so intriguing.
We had Japanese cuisine that night ,and after dinner we went to Starbucks Coffee for a cup of coffee. Well, Barbara is totally addicted to coffee. She just LOVES it. Actually she said it was her second Starbucks that day . She told me she went to the coffee chain in Cheney ( that is where my university is) after school too. According to her, most of the money on her university meal card( we use it to purchase food in campus) has been used for coffee, not meals. well, our state Washington is a mecca of coffee as Seattle is the home for Starbucks , Seattle's Best, and so on...You picked the right place in US, Barbara!

Coincidence or Fate

Twins are weird. I mean they are so mysterious. Since I myself have a twin sister, so many inexplicable things have happened to us through our life.
Though I have hardly called my family on the phone since I came to US, today I somehow felt like calling my twin sister really badly. But I remembered that it was 5am in the morning in Japan for the time lag. Well....I once thought not to call her up then because she should be still sleeping . Yet after 30 minutes of consideration, I decided to call her in Japan. Then? Mihiro, my twin sister picked up the phone and said " I was about to call you too because I dont know why but I got up a little earlier today...". You are joking, right?
This kind of thing has actually happened million-billion times , so it is not that surprising. But, still, it keeps me wonder if twins are some kind of super natural creatures.

Happy Halloween?

Who is this...? It's ME! Yes, October 31st was Halloween day , so I dressed in my "Cat Woman" costume. I guess everybody knows it , but here in US , Halloween is a really big event in a year. Even my teachers were teaching us in their costumes that day. This year's Halloween was on Tuesday, but they had Halloween party everywhere like we do on weekends. But unfortunately, I had a midterm exam on Wednesday, so I was not able to go out for a big party. However..how could I miss Halloween that we do not have in Japan? So I dressed in my costume and went to the costume party in our dorm and stayed there for about 30 mins( oh no!). I wished I haven't had the exam!!!!! This is not fair!

looks so real!

Corn Maze

On October 30th,me and my friend Brit went to a Cone Maze at night. What is a " Cone maze"? It might sound not familiar to people in Japan, but it is a corn field after cropping and they made it like a maze. This evening trip was one of the activities held by our dorms, so we went there with many people. After about a half hour, we got the destination.....FREEZING. My toes went comletely numb because of the cold.
Anyway, we enjoyed the maze without getting lost. And I met a new friend Chelsey during this trip. We went into the maze together, and it was actually good because she had been to corn maze before. So we counted on her who is experienced.
It was fun, but..TOO COLD.
oh my nose! Chelsey has a cute smile.
