The End of Winter

Finally, I am done with all my finals. This quarter was a long, but fast. I had so much fun, but at the same time I cried a lot :P But now looking back the past 3 months, I think all the things happend were meant be so: Even when I had a hard time, the situation brought a new encounter, discovery, and brandnew me.
As I talked before, my friends are leaving, and as well, I am leaving for my spring break in San Francisco tomorrow morning ( Thank you, Mom!!!!) . I wanted to visit the city since long before, so now I am so excited.
The picture is a cake which I ordered for my friends' farewell. Like it reads, " Good luck and Best wishes" for all my friends leaving, and my spring quarter, the rest of the days in the United States!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kayla!!

This quarter was a series of new encounter again. Among those new friends, who I especially have to appreciate is Kayla. " Where are you from?": I still remember our very first conversation when she talked to me after the class. Since then, we started talking each other alot, and now we are really good friends. She loves writing, dancing, and is really good at Spanish (she is going to Spain this summer). Well, she is a great wirter. One day , we are asked to exchange our essay with friends in English class and I was the one who read Kayla's papaer. It was actually my first time to read other students' papaer in that class. I was shocked, I even felt so embarrassed about my paper which she read since her essay was super good. I asked my teacher after class if everybody else in our class writes like she does. Fortunately, his answer was that she is special: Kayla writes even better than other American students not only than me. Honestly, I was reliefed. So yeah, she has helped me with my writing alot. It really really help me and I dont think I could have written some of my essays without her help.
We talk about just about anything. I tease her about boys, too. haha! I love you Kayla!!

Final Week of Winter Quarter

with my English teacher

This is the last week of winter quarter. Today, I had my last English class. It was optional, but I went since I wanted to say my "thank you" to my teacher. Whenever ( almost every other day) I visited his office to ask for his help with my essays, he welcomed me and spared almost all his office hour for me. I always got so inspired and could come up with a good idea after talking to him. Now I can tell my writing has been improving a lot , but this is because of all these people around me. Could I be as nice as they are if I was in the situation? I've kept asking myself this question.
Since my English teacher is not going to be at Eastern next quarter, I won't be seeing him anymore, maybe : Everybody is just leaving. I am sad, seriously. I dont think I like this :-(

A Time to Say Good Bye 2

they are so silly・・・ As I said before, some of my Japanese friends here are leaving soon. I actually did not hang out with them that much till recently since I do not have any classes with them , but last three or four weeks we started talking a lot and now we are really good friends. Thats sad though coz they are leaving:-( So today we went out for dinner together in down town; for the first time and for the last time. They just always crack me up, and tonight was the same. I was rolling even when we were eating. After the dinner at a Chinese cuisine restaurant, we went out for dessert. The sweets we ordered were incredibly huge. But you know, they have to experience real America (American size) before they go home. haha. Anyways, I had so much fun with them. Thanks guys!

this is an ice cream, by the way.

City of Spokane

a shopping mall in downtown

Spokane is the second largest city next to Seattle in Washington States. It's about 25-30 minutes drive from Cheney where I live. So many people just hang out in downtown Spokane on weekend. In downtown, there is shopping mall, dining places, and some shops. To be honest, it is a really small city. But I like it. I dont shop that much in Spokane, but there is a really cute boutique in downtown which is actually my favorite, and also nice restaurants. I cannot go out that often because of study anyway, so I dont need many shops or malls either. It is good to save money , too :P

A Time to Say Good Bye

Yoko, Me, and Barbara

I cannot believe that it has been already the end of the quarter. I am done with English final and two marketing projects already, and now I just have to study for two other finals which are to be held next Wednesday. And then, on Friday, March 23rd, I am leaving here for spring break in San Francisco. I love school, so it is a little sad to me that school is ending soon even though I'm excited about the trip. And especially this time, many of my Japanese friends are going back home since they have finished their programs at Eastern. One of my Japanese friends, Yoko is from my university and is leaving, too. We ,therefore, had a farewell party for her on Monday at our last English teacher( the one i mentioned before). We had a wonderful time over there; at the end she was even crying. It made me think of the day I leave here. I would not be able to hold my tears back then, I'm pretty sure. But anyway, I hope all of those going home had a great time here and have a safe trip home. I'm going to miss you guys though.

Spring is There

                                  From EWU library・・

We finally smell and feel a coming of spring here in Cheney ,too. Though today we had a rainy day, it was as warm as spring last 2 days. I was studying in the library for a coming up exam yesterday, but since it was so beautiful and sunny outside I couldn't focus on my study at all. I felt like I was wasting this beautiful day of sunshine!! There were many people outside enjoing this early spring day:-)

People I Like

while I appreciate all the encounters with my friends here, I am also glad that I have met many great teachers (professors?) so far. Especially last quarter, I loved all my teachers. Even when I had nothing to ask about, I used to visit my marketing professor's office so often just to chat. And my English teacher was such a wonderful person too. Actually, we still see each other and talk a lot. When I was sad, she asked me to meet her at a coffee shop on weekend and listened to me so attentively. When I was stucked with my essay from other class, she spared her time to look at my papers though she is one of those who are extremely busy anytimes. Once she scolded me for my lack of selfe-steem. I wonder if I could care this much about somebody else. I think the reason why I like this school is because people are so nice.

Before going to bed

A view from my window

Although we still have snow, I can tell that spring is out there. It's still pretty bright even after 5 o'clock. It's not as cold as it used to be. And, tomorrow is my registration day for my classes for spring quarter. Yes, the 3 months ( or less?) is going to be the last quarter. Time flies. It really does. Well, I better go since the registration starts at 6am in the morning! Talk to you later!

Like It :-)

Aren't they cute? They are my works. There is a pottery place in downtown Spokane, then me and some other friends went there to make our own mugs or noodle bowls or whatever. One of my friend has already broken it though. I'm sorry :P I really wanna take them back to Japan with me, so I gotta be really careful!
